How to read this ledger
Three columns: the work, the record, the source
Most of the documented record comes from two kinds of source. PRS Legislative Research logs what a member raises in Parliament. The Press Information Bureau publishes the government’s releases on ministers’ official engagements. Neither measures impact, so the entries below describe activity, not results.
I. For the constituency, in Parliament
Airport, bypass and groundwater for Agra
Raised an international airport for Agra (22 Jul 2019), Agra’s groundwater problem (26 Jul 2019) and an Agra bypass (22 Mar 2021) in the 17th Lok Sabha.

AIIMS status, an IIT and IIM, a film city
Asked for AIIMS status for S.N. Medical College, Agra (18 Jul 2019), for an IIT and IIM at Agra (16 Mar 2021), and for a film city in Agra (17 Mar 2021). He asked questions about a passport office and a stadium for the city.

The Taj city’s visitor economy
Raised tourist facilities in Agra (5 Aug 2019) and opening the Taj Mahal until 11 pm (13 Feb 2021), and asked about overnight stays by tourists in Agra.

Sought a special package for potato farmers (20 Mar 2020). Potatoes are a major crop in the Agra region.

Bills debated
Spoke on the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill 2019, the Central Universities (Amendment) Bill 2019, the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (Amendment) Bill 2019 and the IIIT Laws (Amendment) Bill 2020.

Manual scavenging, the courts, the rivers
Took part in the debate on the Manual Scavengers Bill 2013. He also raised a bench of the Allahabad High Court for western Uttar Pradesh (7 Sep 2013), pollution of the Ganga and Yamuna (11 Mar 2013), and the mandatory English paper in the UPSC examination (14 Mar 2013).

Workplace-harassment awareness
A sensitisation workshop on the POSH Act, with a street play (nukkad natak), was held at Shastri Bhawan on 6 Dec 2022 under the aegis of the Law Minister and Minister of State Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel.
TB elimination and HIV awareness
At an ICMR workshop (15 Jun 2023) he noted that TB patients can get treatment with Ayushman Bharat cards. Opening NACO’s review meeting in Agra (24 Aug 2023) he called for a “more rigorous multi-media campaign to create awareness on HIV/AIDS across the country”.
A national public-health conference
Inaugurated the first National Public Health India Conference (NPHICON-2024), organised by the National Centre for Disease Control.
Making PESA “actionable”
Inaugurated the National Conference on the PESA Act, where the PESA-GPDP portal and seven training modules were launched. He said: “We are committed to making PESA accessible and actionable for the residents at the grassroots level, embodying the ‘Lab to Land’ concept.”
Ranking devolution to panchayats
Released the report “Status of Devolution to Panchayats in States – An Indicative Evidence Based Ranking”. PIB summarised his message as: funds devolved to rural local bodies should be monitored to prevent corruption.
Panchayat leaders at Republic Day
Felicitated elected panchayat representatives invited as Republic Day special guests. The PANCHAM chatbot (developed with UNICEF), the PESA state rankings 2024–25 and a compendium of statistics on panchayats were released at the event.
Recording tribal traditions
At the “Hamari Parampara Hamari Virasat” event, PIB reports that he called for tribal traditions to be recorded to safeguard India’s heritage, and urged tribal communities to prioritise education.
Fish technology, islands and cold waters
Inaugurated the Fish Tech Pavilion at World Food India 2025 (25 Sep 2025). He attended the first Fisheries Investors’ Meet in Lakshadweep, where investment of about ₹519 crore was envisaged (13 Dec 2025), and the National Conference on Cold Water Fisheries in Srinagar (14 Mar 2026).
National Milk Day
Conferred the National Gopal Ratna Awards 2025. Veterinary infrastructure guidelines were launched at the event, and nine breed-multiplication farms were inaugurated.
IV. Social work, in his own description
Social reform and welfare
His Lok Sabha profile describes work promoting rural education and women’s empowerment, organising health camps, and taking part in mass weddings. It also records campaigns against dowry, child marriage and the custom of feasts on the thirteenth day after a death, and support for widow remarriage.
